There’s been disturbing rumors that the bookmarking service Delicious was to be shut down. A blog post today (December 17th) on the Delicious Blog goes some way to dispelling this rumor.
Is Delicious being shut down? And should I be worried about my data?
– No, we are not shutting down Delicious. While we have determined that there is not a strategic fit at Yahoo!, we believe there is a ideal home for Delicious outside of the company where it can be resourced to the level where it can be competitive.

For now, it looks like they’re not completely answering. One can never be too confident with assurances like “We’re in the process of exploring a variety of options” and “there’s no reason to panic”, but for now you’ve got to take them at their word.
One thing I am noticing however is that it seems that in the last two days (and possibly more) the Delicious Popular page is no being updated. Atleast that’s what I’m seeing.
