The post Need a WordPress Website Update? appeared first on Red Bridge Internet.
]]>Are you thinking you need a WordPress website update? Are you considering refreshing your design or doing a complete overhaul? What is the best approach for your site? These are among the many questions I get asked on this topic. The correct answer varies for all and is dependent on your current site’s effectiveness both on the marketing and management end. Let’s drill down on a few key issues to explore during this decision making process.
My first inquiry starts with getting the background on the current site. How long have you been operating with the current site? How long has it been since your last refresh? What drove that action and how is the site serving you today? Most people will be able to list a few points on what the site is lacking or not doing well currently and that tends to drive the conversation further. Fundamentally the need to update a WordPress website boils down to addressing one or more of these main factors: site optimization, SEO, mobile responsiveness, site features, goals and lead generation (marketing intelligence), design, re-branding and back-end management (edit-ability). As your development partner it’s our job to identify how and to what extent you can benefit from a WordPress site update.
With the ever increasing number of mobile users on the internet you need to make it a top priority that your site is mobile responsive. If your website infrastructure doesn’t support mobile responsiveness it is time to update your website. Not having a mobile responsive website negatively affects your search ranking. We can help you arrive at a sound solution to handle this critical update.
Is your site relatively aged? Have you updated your branding and refined your target audience? Are there inconsistencies with the user flow on your website? Are you not capturing leads as effectively as desired? You are a good contender for a site redesign.
Do you find your abilities in making an edit to your site are limited? Is it too difficult to handle a simple content update? Are you struggling to remember the multiple steps to change a banner or make a content update? These are all signs that the back-end is not structurally sound for you to easily manage and that you could benefit immensely from a site update.
A WordPress site audit is a good place to start in identifying areas that need to be improved on the optimization and SEO front. Conducting a thorough site audit enables us to identify aspects and areas where search engine optimization and technical SEO can be improved.
Once you have drilled down on the above considerations you will want to arrive at a sound approach to update your website. We’ll be able to factor in your goals, timeline and budget to focus on a road map to success. My rule of thumb is there is a lot we can address in a season to help you get to the next level in your business! Call us today to get started.

]]>Are you a startup, enterprise company, small business or non profit in search of finding the right WordPress design or development agency? Outgrown your current web development support? Looking to take you website marketing efforts to the next level? I know the challenge in finding the right partner may be daunting, so here are my top three considerations to guide you through the process. These bullet points are in part some of Red Bridge’s takeaways in having heard from prospects over the years and how we as an agency along side them have effectively vetted the process of securing a new partnership with them.
At Red Bridge when we embark on a new working relationship with a company we see it through the lens of establishing a partnership for the long haul. Understanding where you have been with your website support is equally as important as where you want your web presence to be one quarter and one year from now. Having the right framework and approach in choosing the right agency will enable you to reach a decision that you feel good about.
Do you have a need for website strategy, optimization, scalability, design and development? If so, Red Bridge is capable of bringing to the table all these areas of expertise. While some agencies excel in one or the other – it’s ideal if your partner is well versed in all three. Each one of our clients throughout the year will be in a position to need a variety of attention in each one of these areas. Focusing on the big picture is key to being well positioned in your marketing and lead generation objectives and goals.
Contact us today so we can set up a time to drill down on your current needs. We’re happy to do a full intake along with a site audit.
After that we can give you a sense of our top recommendations and best approach to getting your website needs handled for the next year and beyond.

]]>If your marketing team is looking to increase lead generation and conversions having a highly optimized site is critical. Whether you’ve had your website built for some time, have utilized different resources to update or maintain your site, or have a less than favorable grade after running a speed test on your site …these are all viable reasons to consider a WordPress site audit.
I get asked frequently how we approach this task and what focus points come into play in conducting an audit. Below is a short list which speaks to the nuts and bolts of what we will drill down on.
As a result of an audit we would be able to speak to the condition of your site and provide recommendations on approaches for short term/and long term objectives in order to prioritize where updates should be conducted on your site.
Keeping up with today’s site requirements to ensure that your site is ranked well by the search engines is more demanding than it ever has been. Factors that come into play are responsiveness, site speed, site authority and best practices for code and assets. A WordPress site audit will shine light on areas that have cracks that very well effect your marketing efforts. The sooner you get your site optimized the sooner you will improve your online presence.

]]>The post Require Phone Number in PayPal Express Checkout appeared first on Red Bridge Internet.
]]>Well, I eventually found out how to make the phone number a required field in PayPal Express Checkout. These are the steps:
Login => goto My Account => select Profile =>
select “See the classic Profile version” (the new stuff is garbage)
Select “Website Payment Preferences” under Selling Preferences
Select radio button “On (Required Field)” under Contact Telephone Number
That’s it. That’s how you can either require or set optional a contact telephone number in your Paypal Express Checkout account.
As a reference, and after far too long searching, I found the documentation on a seemingly obscure developer document at: https://www.x.com/docs/DOC-1367. You’ll find the instructions (the same as I gave) under the heading “Require a Contact Phone Number”. Since this reference is no longer available I’m updating a good set of applicable guidance found here.
Thanks for visiting my post. I’ll continue to update any futher developments on this front.

]]>Sysdig provides a powerful and flexible system to monitor and troubleshoot container technology. They offer open source and enterprise offerings that provide visibility into containers and microservices.
A large part of the project centered around custom block layouts used throughout the site. We engineered the blocks to be reusable and work for the various types of content and designs. Custom spacing, layout, content, colors and patterns are available for each section.
Focusing on ease of use the blocks can be added and rearranged to work with any content. As we continue to work with Sysdig we will extend these blocks to add new features.
Incorporating the existing blog posts and resources were very important to keep a consistent look across the entire site. We also introduced an advanced filtering feature to the site search. This allows the user to to command their searches and focus on relevant content.
One of the new additions to the site are the Use Case articles. Feature packed blog posts with custom side navigation that moves with the article. The articles also extend the custom block architecture that allows for adding various and complex content.
Here at Red Bridge Internet we worked diligently with Sysdig and their release timetables. We reviewed the site and added their input as we geared up to launch the site which went through without issue.
The new Sysdig.com looks and functions great. It is easier for potential clients and current users to find information. Check out the new site today. If you have any questions about updates for your own business, large or small, call us today to get started!

]]>The post Why Engagement is Key to Your Social Media Strategy appeared first on Red Bridge Internet.
]]>There’s an older blog post (circa July 2017) by Buffer Social written by Alfred Lua that hones in on some fundamental reasons why businesses have to think outside the box when it comes to establishing a successful social media strategy. Lua points to 4 fundamental reasons why the focus of social media needs to be shifted to providing content that drives engagement on all levels.
A few key quotes from the post:
Businesses that only push out marketing content on social media will miss out the opportunity to serve customers in meaningful ways and might be left obsolete on social media.
Businesses have to change their approach towards social media and go beyond just publishing content. You’ll have to be there and help your customers when they ask for help.
To be seen and heard on social media (organically), you need to create content that engages your fans. The number of engagement on your social media posts influences the number of people who would see them.
It’s a great read on the challenges and changes that an organization faces if they want to tap into the opportunity to connect with fans and customers. This post is well worth reading if you are looking for a solid understanding on how to build stronger brand presence via engagement.
